Online Career Advancement Addresses GED Funding and Budget Cuts

Online Career Advancement Offers Free General Educational Development (GED) Test Preparation Course To Address Nationwide Cuts In Funding and Budgets For Adult Basic Education Programs

WASHINGTON, DC, February 28, 2010 /Education PR News/ -- Across the United States, free adult education and basic literacy programs, including General Educational Development (GED) test preparation, are being eliminated due to the poor economy. These programs help thousands of the poorest people prepare to earn the GED credential and improve their chances of getting jobs or pursuing other education and training opportunities.

Online Career Advancement is developing an online GED test preparation program that will be offered for free indefinitely. The free computer-based GED program will help prepare participants for current tests and for the 2011 GED series being developed by the American Council on Education (ACE) and expected to be offered in January of 2011.

ACE GED Testing Services is preceding implementation of the 2011 GED series by piloting a computer-based GED testing scenario in several states in the US starting now. Some changes to the official GED tests will include consideration for preparing test takers with transition to post-secondary programs.

In preparation for the 2011 GED series test, the free GED test preparation program developed by Online Career Advancement is being offered via a computer-based course management system used by colleges and universities around the world.

Participants in the free GED test preparation program will have access to numerous supplemental learning resources from within their own private and password-protected learning portal. All of the best features of a sophisticated e-learning system, including tracking grades and activities, forums, chatting, and student blogs, will be accessible in a very easy to use and understand format. The program is highly interactive with videos and games available that allow students to have a little fun while learning.

The Online Career Advancement computer-based GED program is also designed to help participants increase their computer skills and prepare for 21st century online learning opportunities. The program will continuously be updated to reflect changes in the new 2011 series GED tests and in preparation for computerized GED testing.

Interested prospects should contact Online Career Advancement via their main website at onlinecareeradvancement.com; organizations that would like to offer this professionally developed free GED testing preparation service to people who visit their websites are encouraged to contact Online Career Advancement to arrange for a link.
